Things To Do

things to do

If you have never visited Ayamonte before you are in for a treat. This fishing village which sits on the border of Portugal offers a wide variety of things to do and an incredible number of places to eat and drink!

Su Casa is situated in the heart of the pedestrianised town centre making it the perfect base to explore the town and surrounding areas.

cafes, bars & restaurants

The town is full of cafes, tapas bars & restaurants serving from breakfast through to dinner. All of which are just steps away from Su Casa. You can start the evening off in a small bodega where you can have a glass of wine and a selection of meats and cheeses amongst other tasty plates before moving on to one of the many restaurants. Huelva is famous for its ‘gambas’ (prawns), these are a must try along with the freshly caught fish, especially the tuna.

beaches

A 10 minute drive in either direction; to Isla Canela or to Portugal and you will find beautiful white sandy beaches. If you want to go a little further afield you can visit the beautiful beaches of the Algarve or Islantilla and El Rompido.

golf, walking, horse riding & bird watching

If it’s outdoor activities you’re looking for, look no further.  Just a short drive from Su Casa, in both Huelva and the Eastern Algarve, there’s a fantastic selection of golf courses and many walks, long and short, you will surely be spoilt for choice. A 1 hour drive will find you at Doñana National Park, which covers more than 500 sqkm and is home to a host of birds and animals, including the rare Iberian lynx. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park provides an essential stopover for migratory birds.  You can also horse ride across the many kilometres of beach and the stunning dunes that are created where the beach meets the marsh and sand is pulled inland by the coastal winds, forming ever-changing peaks and valleys. Truly stunning!
